I love the culture and how diverse it is. However, upper management was very sneaky about the things they did. And very clicked up. There was also a time a lack of professionalism that some could get away with, but some could not. They have a great idea for how the culture should be. That’s not executed by management.

Great benefits wonderful perks but horrible management at the time of my work experience... was told to get a real job by management this was just a part timer job.. when I did leave I got stalked by the same manager to please come back full time with less pay..

Great besides management
|
Working at ulta was pretty fun. Being around makeup all day is nice when you’re into beauty. Discounts were amazing and so were most of your co-workers. It was pretty busy/fast paced most days, but almost all of your customers were kind. The only place it gets patchy, was with upper management. they ruined the whole experience for me. they would be rude, biased, and would talk bad about you behind your back. they made the work environment very militaristic and toxic. it was like being around your typical high school diva queens. It’s the only reason I left. I wish they didn’t ruin the whole experience for me, but i guess you can’t change people.

Ever since management changed the whole ecosystem changed everything was very stressful and you felt pressured and unworthy if you did not make your sales goal. Forget your job title because you will be doing things that do not make sense. If you enjoy being camera stalked and watched 24/7 then this is the place for you. A manager told one of my coworkers that they do not book me with clients because I am "bad at hair", and "he takes too long." Mind you this was only my first month of doing hair so make it make sense. All in all do not work here it is a waste of your time!!!!

Fun environment, terrible management
|
When I first started working here the environment seemed fun and friendly, but as time went on people started leaving and the management began falling apart. Nothing more than a 20 hour work week (at most) is expected here unless if you work in a management position. Manager's aren't very understanding about personal need's and accommodations that you may require while working, even if those things are medical/health related. They are also not great about communication or responding when you reach out. It's fun working in a beauty store and I love finding products that I had never seen or considered trying, but unfortunately the disorganization of the team outweighs any of the positives of working here.

working here was absolutely horrible. I felt I was not heard. They pressured me to make sure that I have my numbers are grade. They pressured me into getting people credit card. I constantly had to watch people that are all times. It made people feel scared to come in sometimes they were always on your back about everything. when I wanted days off, I would still get put on the schedule. They do not keep up with your break so if you don’t just take one, then you don’t get it. The management is absolutely horrible and their attitudes are really bad they make you feel uncomfortable, not welcome and not safe.
