I've worked at Carvana for close to 4 years, and started as an advocate on the phones. In that time, I have been able to work with incredible people and experience more personal and professional growth than I ever expected out of this job. There have been plenty of ups and downs along the way, but supportive management and the constant challenges and opportunities have made it worth it. The real only negatives in my opinion are compensation & communication regarding changes/updates. Pay is a bit below market average, but the people, culture, and feeling of belonging (mostly) make up for it at the end of the day.

I get to spend a typical day at work solving complex problems. I find it challenging and I learn about strategy, data, and project management daily. Smart, nice and hard-working people

Carvana is a unique place - in a good way.
People are really smart; like, really, really smart but also capable to take their good, data-driven ideas and turn them into successful initiatives. I think that there is this perception that because this is not a Silicon Valley company, the caliber of people is not high. This is wrong to think. Some of the most capable people I have ever met are at Carvana.
That said, even the smartest and most capable person is still a human being and part of the team. There is no idolatry of people, but commitment to working together towards a common goal. This is how it was when things were really hard a few years back; this is how it is now that the company is proving so many haters wrong.
People treat each other with respect. The tone from the top is admirably positive and consistent. Executives set good examples for the rest of the organization.
This is a pretty large organization yet politics are minimal.
