The staff discount is okay but you have to work for 6 months
|
Driving schedules were outrageous meaning drivers need to break the speed limit. Asda removed the use of plastic bags for delivery drivers, great PR , but didn't think about the difference between unloading 8 carrier bags and having to wait whilst elderly members of the public took each item out of the trays individually. Some people would have bags ready but some people could take 15 minutes to unload a drop when the time given is 3 minutes. Top floor of a block of flats with security, 3 minutes, took 15 minutes so you either drove badly or got an interview at the end of your run. I'd like to see the smart overpaid idiot who dreamt this idea up to try driving a van.

I was exposed to many departments and workflows, and learning was actively encouraged. There is a generally positive culture, and leadership shares overall strategy and challenges pretty transparently.

My line manager didn't have a lot of experience, and as a result, I didn't feel I had a clear career path. Having said that, there are opportunities for progression should you go after them.
